Ballston: Leeks American Bistro

Recently I have gone from hating on breakfast foods to loving brunch. Bottomless mimosas may play a part in that, who knows for sure but you will be seeing a lot more brunch posts on here. Based off a recommendation for some of my friends and a craving for some mimosas I wandered over to Leek American Bistro in Ballston for brunch this weekend. 

I Started off the meal with what else but Bottomless Mimosas $10 (they also offer bottomless bloody marys)
Then they give you a bread basket with homemade chutney. This week there was banana bread, mini scones and biscuits with a mixed fruit chutney. I wasn't super impressed with the bread basket but the table liked it. However I thought the fruit chutney was good. 
All Benedicits are served with lemon hollandaise, fresh fruit, hickory smoked bacon and a choice of stone-ground cheddar grits or brunch potatoes. I ordered the Chesapeake Bennie (Maryland Crabcake $13). This was pretty good but it seemed like there was something missing in the dish. 
Lili and Carrie ordered the Traditional Bennie with Virginia Ham $11. They both liked it, but like me, C thought there was a little something missing from it. 
Rommie ordered the BYOO (build your own omelet) $10. He thought it was good, your typical omelet. 
Service was really good. They kept our drinks full and were attentive. It wasn't the best brunch I have had but everything was good and the prices were great for brunch.

  2. Wow.. that looks like a nice. I am totally with you.. I'm not a big fan of breakfast foods... but brunch is another story!! You get more substance with brunch. Love the bottomless mimosas too. :0) I would be carried out of there. :)
