The Greene Turtle and a Flat Tire

The other day some coworkers and I decided that we would finally bite the bullet and hang out with each other after work. Who would of thought of coworkers going to happy hour? I am glad we did, we all had a good time, perhaps some of us had too good of a time ;)

Deciding not to venture to far from work we decided to hit up the Greene Turtle in Old Town Fairfax, a semi-new establishment.

We split an order of Fried Mozzarella (mozzarella cheese crescents, breaded and fried crisp served with hot marinara) $7.49. Other then the fact that there are only three on the plate-making it annoying to share with more then 3 people, this was pretty good.
Stephen ordered the Club Sandwich (ham, roasted turkey, crisp hardwood smoked bacon, cheddar cheese, lettuce and tomato on grilled sourdough with Dijon mayonnaise) $9.49. He enjoyed his sandwich.
Megan ordered the Bacon Cheeseburger Flatbread (certified Angus beef deliciously blended with hardwood smoked bacon, sharp cheddar, diced pickles, onion and tomato served over a tangy Terrapin sauce on baked flatbread) $9.49. She asked for it without pickles and they brought it to her with them on so she ended up sending it back and not ordering anything else because she was not thrilled with this to begin with.
Liam and I decided to split two things. First off was the BBQ Chicken Flatbread Pizza (smoky BBQ marinara sauce topped with sharp cheddar cheese, grilled chicken, bacon and red onion on a baked flatbread) $9.49. This was more like have some flatbread with your BBQ sauce. The thing was coated in BBQ sauce. I actually didn’t end up eating this, Stephen stole a piece and he was not thrilled with it, Liam was not to thrilled with it either but he hate his.
The other thing we ordered was Cheeseburger (big and juicy burger topped with your choice of cheese) $8.99. Liam chose cheddar and a temperature of Well-done. Clearly this boy should not be eating red meat. He enjoyed it and I thought it was ok, it probably would have had potential if it had any sort of moisture in it, but that was Liams’s fault, not the restaurants.
Also we ordered a side of spicy ranch for the table for some fry dipping. Horrible. I don’t know what this was, but it was def not ranch.
Liam ordered a Turtles Going Bananas ~$6.99 which is bananas, chocolate and pineapple rum. This was disgusting. I guess if you like the combo then maybe you will like it, but our entire table hated it.
I would not recommend this place for food but I would consider coming back here for their happy hour which is decent. It is from 4-8 and they have $2 domestic draft beers (bud lite, miller lite, yuengling, etc) and $2.50 rail drinks.

And to make it a perfect end to a perfect night I was getting dropped off at my car and I had a FLAT TIRE. I feel like a year does not go by for me without running over a nail or something.Luckily I had a knight in shining armor to help me, my coworkers Stephen and Liam.

We learned an important lesson that night…Righty Tighty, Lefty Loosy is in fact the truth. Stephen kept on reiterating this little saying but he was going the wrong way…of course that may have been due to the beers that he had at happy hour.

Either way we got it and that is whats important.
